                                ORDINANCE NO. 8556
                   
                   
                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHATTANOOGA CITY CODE, 
                   PART II, CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE X, BY ADDING A 
                   NEW SECTION 24-305, RELATIVE TO PARKING OF 
                   TRUCKS WITH THREE OR MORE AXLES IN 
                   RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS.
                                                     
                   
                   
       	    	 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That:
       	    	 SECTION 1.  Chattanooga City Code, Part II, Chapter 24, 
       Article X be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto a 
       new Section 24-305 as follows:
           "Sec. 24-305.  Parking of trucks with three or more axles 
                          in residential district prohibited.
       
            	 No person shall stand or park a truck or other 
            motor vehicle having three or more axles in a 
            residential district on either a street right-of-way or 
            on private property except during the loading or 
            unloading of passengers or material.  Provided that this 
            section shall not apply to private property which is 
            properly zoned for commercial or industrial use or which 
            is a lawful non-conforming commercial or industrial use 
            and where the standing or parking of a truck or other 
            motor vehicle would be a proper accessory use of the 
            main building or use pursuant to applicable zoning 
            ordinances and laws."
            
       	    	 SECTION 2.  That this ordinance shall take effect two 
       (2) weeks from and after its passage as provided by law.
